Roger Rayner (Managing Director)
Roger is a chartered chemical engineer with over 23 years process industry experience in the conceptual and detailed design of process plant for major hazard facilities. His experience includes Fine Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Oil & Gas, and Nuclear Isotope Separation with companies such as Rhodia, Astra Zeneca, Murco Petroleum and GE Healthcare. He specialises in applying process simulation in an innovative way to solve clients’ problems from design, to control issues and process safety.
Graham Wetherfield (Process Engineering)
Graham is a chartered chemical engineer with over 30 years experience in the design and support of hazardous batch and chemical processes, including as lead engineer for large capital projects. Graham carries extensive experience in the design of batch reacting systems and their associated relief systems. He also assists in the development of our in-house software.
Ben Firth (Simulation Engineering & Software)
Ben is a process engineer with a PhD in Sustainable Chemical Technologies. His expertise is in combining process engineering with the use of computer aided engineering software such as Dynsim, Pro/II, HYSYS, and Aspen Plus. He oversees the implementation of simulation technology across the range of services we offer, including the development of our in-house software.
Mike Ford (Mechanical Design)
Mike has over 35 years experience in a variety of industries, including Nuclear, Defence, Chemicals, and Refining. He has extensive experience in the design of nuclear plant and containment systems with BNFL, NNC, Sellafield, GE Hitachi, and GE Healthcare. He guides and oversees the delivery of all detailed mechanical design.
Gordon Smith (Mechanical Stress & Pipe Engineering)
Gordon has over 40 years in industry, having worked both onshore and offshore in Oil & Gas, as well as in Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, and Power Generation. His work has covered front end design, dynamic stress analysis, and piping engineering management, and has included containment systems. He oversees all stress analysis and piping projects.
Jon Catt (Process Safety)
Jon is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with over thirty years’ experience in High Hazard Industry, particularly in downstream Oil & Gas, and has dealt extensively with regulatory bodies over site interventions and other regulatory requirements. He has worked with the COMAH Competent Authority (HSE/EA/NRW/SEPA) and other industry groups to develop guidelines for COMAH Safety Reports and other process safety projects. Jon is also an experienced HAZOP Chair.
