Flex Process is proud to announce that Senior Simulation Engineer Dr Ben Firth has been accepted to give a presentation at this year’s Hazards conference, organised by IChemE. This year’s event is scheduled for 24-26 May, and will be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Ben will be explaining how we structure and carry out relief and flare studies in a way that significantly improves on the accuracy of the traditional API521 methods, while still fulfilling all the requirements of the standard. The presentation will include multiple case studies of refinery scenarios. We would love to see you there. You can register to attend Hazards here.Read More →

We understand that it’s difficult to trust an unfamiliar company with your work, and so we’re doing our best to give you confidence in our experience and abilities. With this in mind, we’ve recently updated our case studies to go into greater detail so that you can not only gain an understanding of what we do, but also how we work – and maybe even learn something too!   We’ve tried to cover the full range of work that we do, from conventional process and mechanical design to complex interconnected dynamic simulations. We have included capital projects, from Concept Study through FEED, Detailed Design, and Construction, as well as Consultancy work and SafetyRead More →

Our MD, Roger Rayner, recently attended the launch of Nuclear South-West, a new business platform established by BusinessWest. The new organisation is another sign of the South-West being vital to the future of the British nuclear industry. The renewed focus on Hickley and the need to have a strong supply chain to serve the whole Nuclear life-cycle will result in a number of opportunities for Flex Process, along with the other stake-holders in the region. Flex Process look forward to supporting the development of Nuclear in the region with our experience in design and our development of innovative technologies.Read More →

Our work with the Murco, Milford Haven Refinery in undertaking a comprehensive relief and flare study has been featured in an article in Process Engineering, along with a number of quotes from Ben Firth, our Senior Simulation Engineer. We are delighted to see this work getting some attention, as we believe Dynamic Simulation is the best approach for complex safety and engineering studies. Read the article here.Read More →

Roger Rayner will be teaching a Pressure Relief and Flare course over three days in November 2015. The course is being organised by YF-Asia, and will be held in Seoul, Korea. The course will cover: Scenario identification An introduction to relief devices Selecting the correct relief device type Calculating relief loads Sizing relief devices Relief disposal systems The course will also involve real-world examples, based on experiences we’ve had here at Flex Process across the full range of sectors we serve.Read More →
